The Hit (Trailer)

Centering around the life of a hit man, this action drama trailer introduces us to a killer named Bruce, who is given the job of assassinating a rival crime boss. But what Bruce doesn’t realize is that his employer has informed his opponent and flipped the mark. Now as Bruce tracks down his target, little does he realize that his mark is ready and waiting for him.

A WORD FROM CHRIS

This project was shot on a budget of $1,500.00. We had all the necessary equipment, locations and props, but we were missing one thing, an establishment of power. I had made the mistake of acting in this film instead of overseeing the entire project. And because I was going to act this time, I appointed a co-director. My mistake was assigning my co-director too much power.

Instead of having him checking in with me after every shot, to see what I thought, his attitude on the situation was “It’s good enough.” ( a phrase that makes me vomit).

Because I trusted his judgment and allowed him the freedom he said he needed, I ended up VERY unsatisfied with the final product. I was so unsatisfied that I knew if I finished the film with what “HE” had shot, it would only fall below my personal standards and I could never live with that.

But I felt guilty since I had done so much to make this film, I couldn’t just shelve it entirely, a lot of people besides myself busted their ass to help shoot this movie, so I finally decided to turn it into a trailer. It was the least I could do for my actors. I felt I was able to salvage enough from the footage that I could make the trailer look decent. But I still learned an important lesson, and regardless of how good or bad this project turned out, I’m glad I learned it. Moral of the story: Never give someone else equal or more power than you on your own project.
